‘Bagets’ star Cheska
Iñigo thinks that stars
now have it easy
Former child star Cheska Iñigo revealed to Walang Tulugan how she thinks that the actors of this generation are very lucky to be
pampered and taken care of. “Ang suwerte, suwerte, suwerte
nila. Palagi ko ‘yan sinasabi ‘pag gumagawa ako ng soap or movie, always ko sinasabi sa mga bata, alam niyo ang suwerte suwerte niyo...” she shared.
Cheska, who began her showbiz career at twelve years old, shared how they had to be more indepen- dent then.
“... Nung panahon namin, fend for yourself. Fend for yourself talaga,” she added.
They didn’t get to enjoy the perks and luxuries that teenage stars now get to experience. “Wala
kaming acting coach on the set... Nasisigawan, among other things. Ngayon, wala nang ganun,” she said.
Young stars now have people at their beck and call, get to take breaks in comfortable environments and even request for food that they like.
“Dati wala kaming standby area, walang tent, walang aircon. Hanap ka ng puno, puwesto ka. Ang laki laki ng difference talaga,” she declared.
That said, Cheska tries to establish a relationship with her younger co-stars now and help them see how lucky they are to be in the position they’re in.
“[Pinagsasabihan ko sila kung kailangan]. Ginagawa ko talaga. So ‘pag may nakikita ako [na puwedeng itama, I tell them], kasi I like to build that relationship with them. Kailangan talaga eh,” she concluded.
PNP to public: Please respect our uniform
The Philippine National Police leadership yesterday asked anew the public to show full respect to their uniform and avoid making moves that will place the police uniform in a bad light amid the brouhaha created by the so-called “Diaper Patrol” during the recent papal visit which, according to the men behind it, was just a social experiment.
Pictures of the “Diaper Patrol” in which men in uniform wearing adult diapers sans their pants and mistaken to be police officers in patrol drew flak from the police organization which has been feted for its role in ensuring the successful five-day visit of Pope Francis. Senior Superintendent Robert G. Po, spokesperson of the Office
of the Chief PNP, called on the citizenry, particularly the netizens, and members of the movie and television industry not to turn the Philippine police into a perennial laughingstock. “We should all be circumspect, sensitive when it comes to portraying our policemen, majority of which are keeping to their sworn duty to serve and protect as what happened during the papal visit,” Po said.
He also thanked the local movie and television industry for accepting their calls
to stop making movies and TV series which feature actors playing roles of bumbling cops like the movies on “Pulis Patola” in the past. PNP Public Information Office head Chief Supt. Wilben M. Mayor earlier clarified the men in the viral photos are not policemen as he slammed the publicity stunt. “We do not do experiments like that, as I already stated before, policemen did not wear diapers. May I request that you focus on the positive side rather than the negative,” he said. One of the actions, he said is the strict enforcement of the PNP Oplan Tamang Bihis which called on the police to go after non-police members wearing police uniforms and accoutrements.
Charges for usurpation of authority and unlawful use of insignias can be filed against non-PNP personnel who will be found wearing police uniforms. Policemen found wearing improper uniforms will also face administrative charges
The order was also aimed at preventing criminals and other unauthorized persons from easily buying PNP uniforms and other gadgets and paraphernalia that can be used in illegal activities.
FEBRUARY 2015
“Kabado ako, kasi parang ‘Oh my God, ginawa niya iyon?’
They told us to wait, kung willing daw kam-
ing maghintay, eh, di okey
daw.
Matindi talaga...
Is Ash Ortega the next Megan Young?
It’s the season of beauty pag- eants!
“Right now, I’m sixteen years old. Sobrang young pa ako para mag-decide. Siguro if I’m at the right age... if I’m twenty plus na, dun na ‘yung tama kong pag- iisip to join the pageant. Pero right now dito lang muna ako nagfo-focus kasi dito (acting) ako masaya,” paglilinaw ni Ash.
Nang itanong naman kung siya ang next na Megan Young after five years, “Maybe, sana...sana,” anya ng dalaga.
