Alden still friends with Aljur
Alden Richards has three words on reports that Aljur Abrenica is supposedly mulling a return to GMA-7: “Good for him.”
For the nth time, Alden reiterated he and Aljur
remain friends.
They greet
each other
within GMA
premises
though they
don’t see the
need to talk
about the is-
sue of alleged
rivalry between them, Alden said.
Aljur filed his petition for rescission of contract with GMA-7 when the two were about to start work on the series “Cain at Abel.”
The GMA Artist Center (GMAAC) tal- ent surmises GMA-7 would welcome Aljur back if the latter decides to return. The former thinks Aljur was just “confused that time.”
Alden said, “Sino (pa) ba naman ang babalikan mo kung hindi ‘yung magulang (referring to GMA-7) na nagpalaki sa ‘yo?”
Alden recently attended the Hanoi International Film Festival to represent the indie film “Kinabukasan” co-starring Nora Aunor and Rosanna Roces.
“Kinabukasan” was an entry under the short film category. It was Alden’s first time to attend an international film event.
“I was able to meet the stars and directors from different countries at pani- guradong isa ito sa highlights ng aking career bilang isang aktor. The experience inspires me to do more and be the best that I can be,” Alden was quoted in a release.
The film, directed by Adolf Alix, Jr., is a story “about reconciliation, forgiveness, and accomplishing unfinished business.”
Alden found working with the Superstar quite overwhelming. He said she is the epitome of perfect acting and that she works from the heart.
“Sobrang nag-enjoy talaga ako na na- katrabaho ko siya at mas lalong nadag- dagan ang self-confidence ko (because of that),” he said.
Alden and singer Regine Velasquez host reality-talent search “Bet ng Bayan” and at the press conference Thursday, they were with the show’s semi-finalists, namely singers Veronica Atienza and Apple Delleva; dance groups Names Going Wild and A’s Crew; and magician Adrian Adriano and stunt performers Techno Jazz.
The actor said he is enjoying work on the show and that it strengthened his belief that Pinoy talents abound even outside Manila. He looks forward to the grand finals to be held within the month.
The Ms. Paraluman contestants this year come from a diverse background. Everybody is busy earning a living, while caring for a family of her own, or attending to other families as a caregiver or a nanny.
Rizzelyn Catequista is a nurse. Merlita Fernando is in the business of buying
and selling real estate. Naisy Morota is caregiver and a part-time entrepreneur with Nature’s Pearl One. Angeline Failano is a real estate assistant. Cristina Servito is a personal support worker.
The Paraluman contest is an annual fundraising event of the FCT. The candidate who gets the highest total number of points is proclaimed the winner. The points are based on the number of votes she has received, the number of sponsors and ads she collected for the souvenir program and the tickets she sold for the Paraluman events. In
addition, she earns points during the course of competition for her talent presentation, the Philippine regional costume she showcased, the evening gown or Philippine terno she modeled on the last night of the competition,
her poise and personality, as well as her answers to the questions posed by the interviewer. Most Photogenic will be chosen separately by a media panel while Miss Congeniality will be chosen by the candidates themselves. Both titles won’t carry any points.
The annual competition, which is now on its third year, has always been an exciting one, and the candidates do their best to win.
The winner for Ms. Paraluman 2014, Rizzelyn Catequista was born in the Philippines but raised in Dubai before coming to Toronto as a teenager. She obtained her nursing degree from York
University. Today, she is more than happy and blessed to be doing what she loves most - nursing the ones in need of surgery - as PeriOperative Registered Nurse at Toronto General Hospital. When not at work, she is actively involved with various associations in the community, namely the Filipino Nurses Association of Ontario
as Ambassador, Zamboanga Hermosa
as Secretary, Singles for Christ, Friends of Dasmas, Church lector and usher, Out of the Cold program and Legion of Mary. Her hobbies are traveling, baking, swimming and playing the piano. Her motto is: Live Humbly, Care Generously. No one has gone poor from giving.”
The other four finalists were Naisy Morota (first runner up), Angeline Failano (second runner up), Merlita Fernando (third runner up), and Cristina Servito (fourth runner up).
