Chapter Commander Sir Aristeo (Bert) Mondragon of the Scarborough Chapter of
the Order of the Knights
of Rizal, announced
that the chapter will be hosting the 154th birth anniversary of Dr. Jose P. Rizal, the Philippines’s national hero and the pride of the Malayan race which will be held at the Earl Bales Park, Toronto. Ontario, Canada, on June 19, 2015
According to Mondragon, the event will be highlighted by the wreath laying ceremony followed by a program which will be participated in by officers and members of the Rizal different chapters in Ontario province.
Other programs and projects lined-up include the recruitment of new members for the Rizal Scarborough Chapter and the chapter 24th foundation anniversary of the giving of recognition to the senior members, past and present.
On the other hand, the immediate past Rizal Scarborough Chapte Commander, Sir Manny Yanga, who has been elevated to deputy area commander of Toronto East, of the Canada Retion, said that the Auxiliary Ladies of Rizal
of the Scarborough Chapter will remain and will be strengthened in support
of their husbands who are officers and members of the said chapter.
During the meeting of the Scarborough Chapter of the Order of the Knights of Rizal it was unanimously
voted upon that Sir Dong Mineque and Sir Jojo Taduran will represented the chapter during
the 20th International Assembly of the Order of the Knights of Rizal on February 19 - 22, 2015
in the Heritage City of Vigan, Ilocos Sur which was voted as one of the 7 cities of the world.
Aside from Mondragon, the other officers of the Order of the
Knights of Rizal include Virgilio Amante, deputy commander; Sir Willie Paragas, treasurer; Sir Jojo Taduran, chancellor;Sir Leo Huerto, trustee; and Sir Virgilio Sanchez, trustee, and
Sir Joe Sison Luzadas, adviser. Sir Dong Mineque is now a deputy chancellor of the OKOR Canada Region.
Some other members of the Rizal Scarborough Chapter include Lawyer Sir Alex Guarnes, Sir Larry Bercasio, Sir Nick Alo, Sir Alex Rondilla, Sir Rizalde Quiachon, and many more.
